The sound is very good for general use. I use them to drown out office noise with online music and they're perfect. The range is about 75 feet and the two AAA batteries last for 10-20 hours of use. They keep my head from being tethered to my computer which led to a few accidental, but hilarous, near-whiplash moments as I tried to leave my desk quickly.
