I suffered for years with a pair of no-name wireless headphones. At times the static was almost unbearable. I figured my house wiring was causing interference and that I would just have to put up with it. I bought these in hope that the 3 channel feature might help and it did! First channel sounded just like my old set...very poor. Switched to channel 2 and got instant crystal clear reception. No static at all.
Other reviewers have complained of various problems such as the unit powering down when volume is too low. I haven't experienced that. I have mine plugged into a box that toggles them from a dvd player, tv, stereo etc. They are a little big and boxy compared to my old ones but they are comfortable and stay on my head fine. The tuner and volume controls are placed too close together but I think I will get used to that. Sound reproduction is not audiophile quality but more than adequate for tv viewing. I base my 5 stars on what I expected for what I paid which was just a little over $30 shipped. Additionally, I live in a rural setting so interference from neighbors phones etc is not an issue. I can state that my own cordless phone causes no interference with the headset. I can't address the longevity or durability because I just got them but my old cheapos lasted 6 years. I just don't think there is a lot to wear out or break on a pair of wireless headphones so I'm hoping these will last as long.
